Karpathos is the far most southern island of the Dodecanese complex. It is located between Crete and Rhodes and is approx 301 km2 in size. Its shorelines stretch approximately 160 km. It is oblong in shape and its length reaches 49 km. Its highest mountain, Kali Limni, reaches an elevation of 1215 metres. 

The island contains 18 villages and each one has its own tradition and beauty. Visitors can enjoy themselves as in the villages there are several festivals and fairs during the Summer. Further, a lot of traditional weddings that happen in the island give the chance to the visitor to take part in, dance and of course taste the traditional food.

The coastal village of Lefkos lays a few kilometres south-west of Mesochori. The region is well known for the wonderful lilies blossoming all around during spring and summer as well as the pine trees and the idyllic white sandy beaches that increase the beauty of the landscape.
